Innovative performance
The NRW (Non-Revenue-Water) Solution
SONATA has excellent measurement accuracy, up to R800, which ensures outstanding metrological performance even at very low flow rates (down to 1 l/h), as well as at high flow rates. This feature makes it the best solution for solving the NRW issue, detecting water leakage, and improving customer awareness and satisfaction. By accounting for previously undetected water, more accurate billing is possible.
⋅ RELIABILITY AND DURABILITY
Thanks to the latest advanced ultrasonic technology and the absence of moving parts, SONATA guarantees perfect and stable measurement over time. The IP68-certified degree of protection ensures its maximum durability and resistance to moisture even under permanent immersion.
The meter is available in two versions:
- with a body made of PPS composite, a technical thermoplastic widely used in the aeronautical field, which is extremely light but, at the same time, highly resistant (thanks to the addition of abundant glass fiber), weatherproof and does not release elements into the water. To further strengthen the already solid structure of this highly environmentally friendly composite material, WaterTech has studied solutions to strengthen the structure, especially using ribs and veins along the entire measuring tube, which allow for extremely strong and durable apparatus.
- With a brass body and a thermoplastic inner lining to avoid any direct contact between the metal and water.
A robust design with no moving parts makes SONATA maintenance-free and highly accurate throughout its instrument life.
⋅ ELEGANT AND FUNCTIONAL DESIGN
The unique design of the completely hollow measuring tube creates an unobstructed water passage, minimizing pressure loss. In addition, SONATA is positioned as the lowest pressure drop meter available on the market, an element that provides significant savings on the energy consumption of network pumps, resulting in economic and environmental benefits. By being able to reduce pressure throughout the network, physical stress on pipes and joints is lowered, resulting in fewer ruptures and leaks, and consequently lower maintenance costs.

SONATA is the end-point data collection, storage, and delivery device that provides the foundation for a reliable and scalable smart metering network. Its advanced and highly innovative design makes it a tool ready to meet the challenges of the future. SONATA natively supports any communication protocol and technology currently available on the market.
SONATA’s on-board communication modules provide data and information, which are important to support decision making at the network management level or for on-site analysis. Different alarms and events can be set up to make real-time detections: leaks, reverse flow, no water, tampering, pipeline leaks, etc.

SONATA’s data collection and logging capability can provide a detailed local consumption profile with wide margins of customization for the operator.
Non-volatile flash memory, as well as the presence of dual electronic circuitry and dual power batteries, prevent the risk of loss of collected data and consequent non-billing for the utility.
