⋅ RELIABILITY AND DURABILITY
OCTAVE, being a static ultrasonic electronic meter, has no moving parts inside that can wear out. The design is specifically designed to minimize the need for maintenance and ensure that the meter maintains its accuracy throughout its life cycle. IP68-certified, OCTAVE is designed to withstand any service condition, even the most critical and extreme conditions that can occur in agriculture or at the junction points of a network. Given its unique vacuum-tube design, Octave is particularly suitable for installations near pumps, as it is insensitive to water hammers.
To meet every need, there are several materials in which it can be made, all highly durable: stainless steel, cast iron, or composite material. Customization also extends to the diameters, which range from 1½” to 12″ to meet any need for installation in a pre-existing system. Connection options are also diverse: threaded pipe or flange.
⋅ INDUSTRY
OCTAVE was born back in 2009 (the world’s first large-caliber electronic ultrasonic static meter) from the research and development carried out by Arad Technologies, an in-house engineering company of ARAD Group, a group to which WaterTech belongs. Years and years of research have resulted in a smart meter perfect for meeting the challenges posed by harsh environments such as manufacturing plants, mining, and material processing locations.
The variety of sizes, absolute accuracy (kept constant over time), and unique design of its vacuum tube hydraulics and sensors make it a highly reliable meter, as it is not affected by water quality and any impurities in the network.
This extraordinary electronic meter not only boasts an IP68 protection factor; OCTAVE is perfectly watertight and is not afraid to be placed in extremely difficult conditions, such as underground manholes and subjected to all weather conditions. The meter is especially robust and withstands a wide range of temperatures.
The wide choice of communication protocols that can be equipped to the meter makes OCTAVE installable in any spatial context because it adapts to existing on-site networks: excellent as a crucial node for implementing a Fixed Network, OCTAVE also makes Drive-by or Walk-by reading available.
OCTAVE can be supplied either with built-in communication modules or with wired digital or analog pulse outputs, so that it can be directly connected to the remote-control systems already on the water utility’s network.
⋅ DIGITAL DISPLAY
The OCTAVE smart meter is equipped with a digital display built into the unit. A true LCD made of molded, heat-treated glass that is resistant to scratches and breakage. The vacuum-sealed display can be programmed to have even on sight the information needed to monitor that measurement point. The operator can immediately check flow direction, flow volumes, battery status and numerous alarms.
⋅ PRECISE AND ACCURATE DATA
Like all WaterTech’s signature smart meters, OCTAVE features dual electronic circuitry, one for flow measurement and the other for wireless communication. The dual power battery ensures flawless operation over 15 years and absolute measurement accuracy. Non-volatile flash memory ensures no data loss.
